FINDING THE PRECIOUS TRADITIONAL VALUES


Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is a unique historical landmark in Hanoi. Not only does the landmark preserve precious traditions for the nation, it also includes tangible values of culture such as: architectural constructions, Status, Stone stele, and more highlighting a thousand years of culture and history in Vietnam.

On  the Lunar New Year, the Club of Vietnamese Dress for men – Dinh Lang Viet, visited Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam. All members of the club wore the traditional long dresses on this occasion. The traditional long dresses were stunning when worn in this special place with ancient architectural constructions such as: Khue Van Cac (Khue Constellation), Dai Thanh Sanctuary (Great Success Sanctuary) and the hundred – year - old banyan trees.

This visit was attended by special guests: Ambassador of culture – Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, Associate Professor – Mr. Truong Quoc Binh, Vice Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport  - Mr. Truong Minh Tien and Doctor of Art – Mr. Tran Hau Yen The. Mr. Pham Sanh Chau shared: “ I am so proud of the nation and am touched to return to this historical landmark and to find precious traditional values. Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is a holy place which preserves high educational traditions of Vietnam, and is dedicated to the great professor for the nation – Chu Van An. I hope all of you will achieve everything wonderful for Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, as well as, culture of Vietnam”.

All members of the Club of Vietnamese Dress for men – Dinh Lang Viet, listened to a presentation of the history of the site, as well as the nation’s long tradition of Vietnamese education and history. They also observed the sophisticated architecture of Van Mieu.

Visitors, including foreigner tourists, were very interested and impressed when they saw the traditional long dresses. One visitor from America thought the traditional long dresses worn in this special place were attractive. She hoped that all people around the world would come to visit Vietnam, as well as, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam and wear the traditional long dresses to have a greater understanding of Vietnamese people and culture.

Before finishing the visit, the leader of Club of Vietnamese Dress for men – Dinh Lang Viet shared  “Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is a hallowed place with great traditions of Vietnam, therefore, all members of Club of Vietnamese Dress for men – Dinh Lang Viet, are honoured to visit this Special National Relic”
