On September 16, 2018, at Van lake, The Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam in collaboration with Longlink Vietnam Company had a meeting to mark the end of Summer Camp and to present a special prize for the drawing competition(worth 30 million VND), as well as to introduce the activities of the coming Mid-Autumn festival.

Setting up the Summer Camp according to the model "villages in the street", the organizers have made full use of the landscape of the lake with an area of more than 6.000m2 to create a green landscape where many flower-shaped lanterns are decorated. The space around the lake is arranged in two themes: "village of candidates", which introduces the quintessence of traditional crafts such as the process of producing paper, writing calligraphy, making stuffed animals and making bamboo dragonfly,... External space is reserved for community activities. During the three months, the Summer Camp has attracted a lot of Vietnamese children, as well as foreign visitors who came to have real-world experience. The organizers also presented special prizes for the acrylic drawing competition to Ngo Phuong Nhung (7 years old, 2nd grade student, living in Tran Phu street, Ha Dong district, Hanoi). Her painting depicts the fun activities that took place at Van lake. "The prize worth 30 million VND offers a special trip for two people to Long Son Resort - Mui Ne (Binh Thuan province).
In order to develop Van lake into a center for cultural activities and heritage education; apart from daily activities from 8 am to 10 pm and performance on three days every weekend; The Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam cooperated with Longlink Vietnam Company to organize a special event on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival. The festival lasts from September 23rd to 23rd at Van lake. Here, families and visitors will be living in the traditional space joining lantern processions, lion dance performances, calligraphy performance. In addition, children will have fun making traditional cakes. Usually, parents give gifts or make toys for their children. But the organizers of the program want, in this series of experiential activities, children will learn how to make the gifst and the products of the moon season and then give them to their parents.
