On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, officially invited Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree and her spouse to visit Vietnam.
On the evening of May 7th, 2019 Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree and her spouse visited Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree and her spouse listened to an introduction to the history, and tangible and intangible cultural values of the vestage. Visiting the area of doctoral laureates’ stelae, Crown Princess and her husband were very interested in 82 doctoral laureates’ stelae - a world documentary heritage.

She expressed admiration for the long history of education, the history of examinations, as well as, the way to select talents of the Vietnamese nation. The Crown Princess was also very touched by the ancient beauty of the architecture here, especially Khue Van Cac, the symbol of Hanoi Capital.

After the visit, the Chairman of the City People's Committee had a meeting and worked with Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree and her spouse and the high level delegation of the Swedish Kingdom at Tien Duong, Thai Hoc Courtyard of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam.
Speaking at the reception, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee spoke: “In the warm atmosphere, full of friendship today, I would like to emphasize that the government and people of Hanoi capital always consider Sweden as a partner and a close friend. After 50 years of cooperation full of friendship and achievements, we will work together to deepen the relationship between the two countries, and continue to develop the relationship between Hanoi capital and Sweden and make it more sustainable”.
