First Vice Chairman of the Legislative Council of Thailand visited Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam.


On January 16, 2019, Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai - First Vice President of the Legislative Council of Thailand paid a visit to the Special National Landmark, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam.

Visiting and listening to the introduction of the history of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam- the most outstanding historical and cultural sites of Hanoi Capital and the whole country, Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai was particularly interested in the Garden of Doctor Steles.  Through these precious steles, he and his delegation gained a better understanding of  the old  system of Vietnamese examinations and  how  talented men were recruited for dynasties.

Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai highly appreciated the preservation and promotion of values ​​in the Landmark, which helps architectural items such as Van Mieu Gate, Dai Trung Gate, Khue Van Cac, Great Hall of Ceremony, Dai Thanh Sanctuary, Doctor Steles, ...to be well  preserved  to this day.

On leaving the Landmark, Mr. Surachai Liengboonlertchai expressed his honor to visit the relic of ​​great significance that symbolizes the long-standing education of Viet Nam; he also wished that the relic would receive more and more attention of domestic and international visitors.
