On the occasion of the 340th anniversary of the birth of Doctor Nguyen Huy Nhuan (1678 – 2018) the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam organized the Scientific Workshop “Doctor Nguyen Huy Nhuan and the academic Nguyen Huy family – Sui village, Phu Thi commune, Gia Lam district, Ha Noi”. The workshop recognized the contributions of Nguyen Huy Nhuan and Nguyen Huy family to culture, and policy of the nation. The Workshop took place in the Front Building of Thai Hoc Courtyard of The Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam on the morning of 28/12/2018.
Phu Thi village was one of the outstanding academic villages in Thang Long – Ha Noi, where the Nguyen Huy family and Cao family were the brightest families. In the village, from the year 1075 to 1919, 10 men passed the royal examinations, five of which were from the Nguyen Huyfamily. Nguyen Huy Nhuan (1678 – 1758) was the first man in his family to pass the royal exam in 1703.
Doctor Nguyen Huy Nhuan was appointed as Thượng thư, Tham tụng, hàm Thiếu phó Thái bảo, Nhập thị Kinh Diên, Tri Quốc Tử Giám (Manager of teaching and learning at Quoc Tu Giam). Doctor Nguyen Huy Nhuan contributed to the trainings of the talented men of the nation. He devoted a lot of his time to the management of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.
