On April 24, 2018, Mr. Karu Jayasuriya – Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka visited the Special National Relic - Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam.
During the visit, Mr. Karu Jayasuriya listened to the history of the foundation and development of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, as well as the fond of learning tradition in Vietnam.

Particularly, Mr. Karu Jayasuriya showed a special interest in Vietnamese traditional education practices and the examination process. He expressed appreciation of Vietnamese culture, education and talents over a period of approximately 1000 years.
As a gesture of appreciation for the visit, Mr. Karu Jayasuriya signed the guest book and shared that it was indeed a great opportunity for him to visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam. He was so touched to visit this cultural center where thousands of talented men studied and prepared for the biggest examination in Vietnam. Upon leaving the site, Mr. Karu Jayasuriya wished the Center and all workers the best. Mr. Karu Jayasuriya – Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka expressed his hope that Vietnamese fondness for learning tradition and the practice of honoring talents would continue to be held from generation to generation so that people all over the world will be able to learn more from that.
