GOVERNOR OF YUNNAN PROVINCE RUAN CHENGFA VISITING VAN VAN - QUOC TU CHAM

On the morning 31st May, Governor of Yunnan province Mr. Ruan Chengfa and the delegation visited the Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.

Mr. Ruan Chengfa and the delegation listened to an introduction on the history of the vestige as well as the long history of education and examination within Vietnam.

The Governor paid special attention to 82 doctoral laureates’ stelae located at the Temple of Literature. This is not only a very valuable historical document which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage artifact, but also testifies to respect for virtuous and talented men that has existed for thousands of Vietnamese generations.

At the end of his visit, Governor of Yunnan province Mr. Ruan Chengfa said it was an honor to visit the precious historical site of Hanoi and Vietnam. He thanked the Board of Directors and staff of the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam for their warm welcome.
