VAN MIEU – QUOC TU GIAM FROM THE RUINS TO THE SPECIAL NATIONAL LANDMARK

Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam was recognized as a Special National Landmark seven years ago. The progress in the landmark’s positive change was difficult; Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam was totally revived from the ruins. Vietnam Communist Party, Government, the faculities, researchers and the lovers of culture cared. They invested, repaired and organized activities to bring into play value of the landmark, methodical preservation and restoration among them.

Sáng ngày 26/4/2019, tại sân Thái Học di tích Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám đã diễn ra cuộc thi Chung kết và lễ trao giải thưởng Ngày hội “Trạng nguyên nhỏ tuổi lần thứ 17 và Hội thi viết chữ đẹp “Nét chữ - Nết người” dành cho học sinh khối Tiểu học trên cả nước do Báo Nhi Đồng tổ chức.

MEMORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CENTER FOR SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY VAN MIEU – QUOC TU GIAM (25/04/1988 – 25/04/2019)

The Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is one of the most unique and oldest cultural historical sites in Hanoi. The landmark, with ancient architectural construction, was used to train thousands of doctoral laureates for the nation. Nowadays, Van Mieu is used to conserve and highlight the nation’s traditions: fondness of learning, sense of duty and revering teachers and valuing education for generations to appreciate.

APPROVING THE TASKS OF PLANNING ON PRESERVATION, RENOVATION AND RESTORATION OF THE NATIONAL SPECIAL LANDMARK VAN MIEU – QUOC TU GIAM

On April 19, 2019, the task of planning for preservation, renovation and restoration of the National Special Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam was approved by the Prime Minister. This is a specific plan to preserve and promote the value of special national historical and artistic architecture relics, s cultural and scientific center, and preserving and promoting the value of the world documentary heritage, of important tourist destinations throughout the capital and the whole country.

AMERICAN SENATORS VISIT VAN MIEU – QUOC TU GIAM

Within a framework of working and cultural heritage education, United States Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink accompanieda Congressional Delegation topay an official visit to the Special National Landmark Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam on April 18, 2019.

UNESCO WILL ORGANIZE EVENT TO HONOR 650th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF CHU VAN AN IN 2020

The 206th session of UNESCO Executive Council in Paris, France approved proposals sumbitted to the General Assembly of UNESCO. A resolution was issued to commemorate historic events and the anniversaries of eminent personalities celebrated by Member States in order to give them worldwide significance..During this session, 71 proposals were submitted; 48 proposals were adopted including the commemoration of the 650th anniversary of the death of Chu Van An. UNESCO seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture.

HERITAGE EDUCATION

The heritage education experience, at Van Mieu- Quoc Tu Giam offers useful activities for small groups of all ages. In the cultural space of the nearly 1000 years old landmark, 15 kids of KLF Kindergarten, Hanoi participated in a meaningful experience. This was a beautiful memory for them as the pupils prepare to leave Kindergarten school to enter a higher level - Primary level.
